National Insurance Number?

I've just turned 16 and want to start a weekend job to pay (in part) for a trip to New York in December. Apparently, I can only get a job if I have a National Insurance Number. Is this true? If so, how do I get one and how long will it take to arrive? Also, I am in the UK, around Harringey.

You'll get a national insurance card sent to you within the next few weeks, this will have your number on the front.

You should already have received it by now, It is allocated shortly after birth and your card usually issued in time for your 16th birthday. Just pop round to your local dwp office /job centre with some proof of your identity ( your passport should be fine) explain what you want and yopu needed it to get a job and i am sure they will write it down for you and that should be accepted for your job.

Feebow- a national insurance number has nothig to do with the employer being employed. they want it to make sure she starts paying national insurance of she earns enough, and , more importatly to prove she can leagally be employed in this country

You're referring to a National Producer Number, or NPN. It's assigned to all producers when they get licenses. Even without that, you can typically go to your Department of Insurance's website for your state and enter the producer's name and find out if they are appointed. Typically if someone is appointed, that means they are still working for a company. If they have no appointments, it just means that they are licensed, but not appointed to sell for any company.

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number. The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay. All reverse cell phone lookup services charge for the information as it is a contract bind between the mobile company and themselves, where they pay for the info. Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it. If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report. If you only want to reverse lookup one cell phone or land-line phone number you will be charged about $15 but if you need to reverse lookup more than one phone or cell phone number you can get a years access to their database.

Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.

This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for. I definitly reccomend this service, check it out: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

Ring Inland Revenue and ask them about your card. They may even give you your NI number. Normaly they do send you the card in the post.

What you could do is vist your local Jobcentre Plus or DWP Office.

Have a look at the DWP website, which sets out the process and gives contact telephone number etc:
