estrogen and underarm hair?

i know people have both estrogen and testosterone in their system, regardless of whether they are a female or male. in that case, is it testosterone that is responsible for hair growth (underarm/pubic) in women, too?

Update:

oops sorry.

i meant only women had BOTH estrogen and testosterone. thanks for the correction :]

No, it's not testosterone (which is produced in the testes), but adrenalcortical androgens that are responsible for female body hair.

Adrenalcortical androgens such as androstenedione and dehydroepiandrosterone are male hormones produced in the adrenal glands that have similar effects as testosterone but are present in much smaller concentrations than testosterone in males. In females, they are mainly responsible for pubic and axiliary hair growth.

They do have both. Men have much less estrogen, and some steroids activate the estrogen receptor. In women the same for testosterone

    yes, it is.

but you are incorrect about both sexes having oestrogen - men do not. This is the main reason why they don't understand women. Since women have both hormones, they actually understand men quite well but prefer pretending not to.
