When you say that Scientists have just confirmed the existence of "Dark Energy"

It is the same as saying that the have confirmed "Dark Matter"!

However this is not the true case, they have no such confirmations.

I will explain the Dark Matter Theory as it is older and better known.

When cosmologists find that galaxies are rotating at the wrong speeds in the wrong places, they don't throw away their theories of gravitation. They invent 'cold dark matter' to fill in the missing 90% of the mass of the universe. If any other scientist did this, people would throw up their hands in horror and condemn it as 'theory saving'. But cosmologists seem to get away with it.

It's cold and Dark and therefore can't be seen or detected by heat radiation or light reflection.

Ok to the credit of the cosmologists they are trying very hard to find a way to detect this Dark Matter. So far they've discovered that it does bend light, so you can see lumps of it by the effect they have on images of more distant galaxies.

We will still have to wait a few more years before we can truly know whether the missing 90% of matter is really there or whether the whole idea is nonsense.

The simple fact is that at the moment even the top cosmologists can't say for certain so how the some other people can claim to know this in beyond me!

We can't yet dissect a galaxy, so for now cosmologists can get away with their little invention of a face-saving new material.
