The Linksys WIP330 is not Skype compatible.

It is a user configurable SIP compatible Wireless-G IP-Phone that can be configured with many of the SIP VoIP services that allow BYOD (bring your own device).

It is very cool - I would get it if I had a few extra bucks to spend...

Some examples of BYOD services that you could use it with are:

    InPhonex - http://www.inphonex.com/

    CallCentric - http://www.callcentric.com/

SipPhone - http://www.sipphone.com/ (owner of Gizmo Project)

    IdeaSip - https://secure.ideasip.com/index.php

    Les.Net - http://les.net/

    Voip.ms - http://www.voip.ms/

    etc...

I have accounts with all of the above SIP VoIP services and used them with configurable softphones and my configurable Linksys PAP2T ATA SIP phone adapter.

But, if you want a "cordless Skype Phone", you may want to look into the Linksys CIT-400, CIT-300, or CIT-200. These all have Skype pre-configured. CIT-400 does not require a PC to use - just direct-connect to your router.

If I had the extra bucks, I would get the CIT400....
