Why must the US use military force against other countries rather than another country?

Why must the US use military force against countries that pose a military threat rather than another country? Are other countries to preoccupied? I need evidence of where you got your information so if I need to I can use it in a debate case. Thanks!

Update:

#1, this is nothing to do with why Iraq was invaded instead of Iran. And I just need help with a debate case. I want to know why if we were to stop the aquisition of nuclear weapons from other countries that pose a military threat, why should it be the US to do it? and why should we use military force?

If I am reading your question correctly, you are asking why it seems that it is only the US military that is committing troops in places like Iraq and why don't other contries contribute troops as well. Is that correct? If so, the answer is that the US isn't the only country that contributes military force. For example, Iraqi Freedom coalition forces include troops from 26 different countries, including Great Britain, Australia, and Poland. Take a peak at the Iraqi Freedom website to learn more. It is www.mnf-iraq.com for those of you who wish to take a look at it. This is true of most US Military operations. The problem is not one of participation - it is a problem of perception. The US media is terrible about partisan coverage and usually only mentions other national participation in passing, if at all. Since most people in the US rely strictly on CNN and other US-centric news media for their news they just don't realize that there is a whole big world out there with interests and concerns of their own that includes their own national policy and foreign commitments.

You should know that such things as your countries Patriot act anger the very people who vote most. It reads rather like an act we had in Ireland and in Northern Ireland on 'Internment' which angered does who voted and in the end just was a recruitment aid to groups that it affected. You can not shut people up all the time free speech is more important than state control of any form and I really don't think that the Iraq war much to do with the Republicans losing so much it was there attack on civil liberties the slow response by Republican administration to Katrina last year, played more of a part in the result than CNN and company will admit and Certainly George Bush.

    I don't get it.

Are you asking a question regarding the United Stats decision to invade Iraq but not Iran?

  • Because one has oil and gets easily steamrolled initially, while the other needs help but won't make Halliburton and the oil companies money.
