Can a bank overdraft go against your credit score?

I made a cash deposit on day 2, it showed up on my online statement but it was pending for 36 hours. It was supposed to cover my insurance direct debit that goes through on day 3. How can the bank hold a cash deposit as pending??? It's cash! They charged me an overdraft fee for the insurance, and then another for a purchase made on day 1 that didn't "clear" until day 3, even though it was there on my statement "pending" since day 1!

Do the banks think they can warp space and time??? DIE REGIONS!

So if I don't pay them, will it go on my credit?

Can I report this kind of thing to the BBB?

Update:

Oh and they also "sort" your daily debits according to amount, so if you make a debit that overdrafts you at 10pm, you still get overdraft fees for all other debits that day if they were of a lower amount than the last!

Is it Washington Mutual? They are so good for that!

The bank can report it on your credit IF you are overdrawn for more than 30 days.

You can try and report it to BBB but the banks are good at fine printing things..so I'm sure the conditions were printed somewhere in that brochure they give you (that no one reads) and they won't be able to do much. I know it sucks...sorry!

If they report it to the bureaus it will go against your score.

Go ahead and report it to the BBB and prepare to be laughed at.

If your bank holds deposits for 3 days then you'll have to rearrange how you deposit and withdraw from your account so you don't get overdrafts. That, or change banks.

It won't affect your score unless the bank reports it. And the bank usually wait 30 days to report it if you don't take care of the overdraft right away

I do not think so not unless you do not pay it within 30 days then the bank closes your account and sends you to chexsystems. Some banks send you to a collection agency which then will hurt your credit.

Isn't it simply amazing the way the banks find such creative ways to rip people off ? Personally I prefer credit unions, never really been a fan of banks.

But to answer your question, yes it can and most likely will be reported to the credit agencies if you don't pay up... as frustrating as that is.

Yes, if the bank wants to persue it...as mentioned earlier, it wil go to collections and eventually charge-off.

But if it's recent, just pay it

only if it goes to collections.
