Why would someone want to buy a video card with an HDMI output?
Video cards don't produce any sound on that output. DVI to HDMI cable should be the same video quality. The audio portion is not used. It just seem like a waste of a cable plugged into your monitor.

Because there are starting to be differences in hdmi and dvi now. Now there is a 1.3 hdmi, and that supports more then dvi connections do. Such as more devices longer runs and is more reliable.
