Link for request of death certificates in Hawaii, I haven't seen one from there before, but if it's like all the others I've worked with it will state cause of death somewhere on the form.

Obtain a copy of the death certificate. In some states there atre two kinds: one including cause of death for health officials & one without for public records.

I've never checked on this personally, but have to say that I am sure if you check that out, it will be public record.
