The best, as in the most useful?
For European languages I would suggest German. It is spoekn around the world. Also Switzerland is one of the best countries for business and the main language is German (and French). French would also be good because it is studied around the world.
For Asian languages I would first suggest Japanese for similar reasons to German. Japan is a business country and a world leader (plus the culture is unique and seemingly quite loved in the West). The other would be Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), obviously because the Chinese are a huge element to the world and also appearing to be the main competition to the West. It would be nice to know what they are going on about.

apart from english, the next two top european languages are french and spanish, but as you already speak spanish, i'd say definately french and german.
but it really depends where in europe you want to travel, for example if you wanted to go to eastern rather than western europe, russian may be more useful.
as for asian languages, definately chinese(mandarin) and japanese.

european:
franch and german, because english was made from franch and german too.

i think either chinese or japanese or korean, because east-asian languages is easier and they sound cool.(in my opinion)
i think contanese(chinese) is better and harder, becuase im from Hong Kong so i speak contanese, and contanese have 9 sounds, and many chinese dialects are similar to contanese.
