McCain's solution is to make the illegals who are here, pay a fine, since in his view, you can't send 12-14 million people back to their home country.

Romney's response is that McCain's answer is just another form of amnesty and amnesty doesn't work. Romney is telling these illegals they have to get back in line like everybody else because to do anything else would be to signal to all the others looking to come to the US illegally that they can do it and get away with it, although they may just have to pay a heavier fine to beat the lines.

While Romney's plan may not envision sending all 12 to 14 million illegals back home, he is correct in taking this firm position. And I believe that if you just start deporting a big CHUNK of this group back, that is going to be precisely the message that others looking to get to the US illegally, need to SEE and HEAR about. Remove the sanctuaries for these people in the U.S. and adopt a Worker Identification program so no-one slips through. Better idea than McCain's and better than Huckabee who wants to give cheap or no cost college education to illegals because that is "the right thing to do!" My daughter began college this year with a $20,000 annual tuition cost and if SHE isn't getting this college break, then I sure as HECK don't want that money going to illegals who have broken our laws and are breaking our society's back.

Yes ,I really do believe he will because, he knows how the American people feel, about about this very important issue.

And I think he will do it with dignity, also I just feel this so strong. I have high respect for Him and I think he will bring the change, that all the others are promising. And I believe he will want to be remembered, as our greatest President. because, of his age I think he will work faster than the younger guys. to get these things done. .What better way to leave this world ,than to leave it a better place.

I believe McCain will take good care of American Veterans, which takes good care of Americans. As far as Immigrants go, that problem wont go away no matter who is elected. People WANT what we have, and are gonna sneak in no matter what.

No one is going to do that. We will have some kind of amnesty, whether we like it or not. There is simply too much profit being made by businesses. So, hang on, we are going to get the shaft.

McCain has shown that he will actively address the immigration issue, regardless of the political costs. Who else in this race has done that? I am not planning on voting for him, but I admire his integrity and willingness to take action to do what he feels is right.

No, It will be impossible to kick out all those people. Look, ask your self how are we going to do it? Can't put them in jail, not enough room. Again, can't transport them out, not enough vehicles. And guess what? It will cost money and A LOT OF MONEY TO DO WHAT AMERICANS WANT. Do you think they will pay? That means TAXES and a lot of taxes.

He will do Bush the amnesty thing.

I believe he will pursue a plan resembling Bush amnesty.

I agree with you, he'll throw in a few fines and penalties but he'll let most of them stay which means that those who have been waiting will continue waiting. My friend who is Hispanic and legal cannot get a visa for her relatives to come and visit her.

He lives here in Arizona and hasn't done anything in his current capacity so I doubt very seriously if he will address it if he were to become president.
