6 month old with acid reflux and on prevacid?
She still spits up all day long. She does not seem as fussy now that she is on the medicine. Is this normal to still be spitting up so bad and on the medicine? The dr tried Axid at first and then switched to Prevacid. Any advice would be great
It is very common to put a baby on Prevacid. They even make it for babies. She takes a pill that dissolves. I am also nursing so changing formulas would not be in order.

My granddaughter and grandson both were diagnosed with acid reflux. They both continued to spit up even with medication (one was on Prevacid and the other is on Zantac). The good news is that my granddaughter is now 1 year and is completely off the medication although she still continues to drink a soy based formula rather than cow's milk. My grandson is almost 6 months old and still spits up quite regularly but does not have the pain and discomfort he had prior to taking the medication. You do need to tell the baby's doctor that she is still spitting up - sometimes it is a trial and error situation with which medication works the best and you may not find one that totally eliminates all the problems. I know that this is stressful and causes you worry but take heart and be patient - things will get better as baby gets older

How about trying a little Ginger Ale? Its a natural sour stomach settler and your lil one might really enjoy it. I know when my Acid reflux is really bad, it helps that as well. Ginger in general does some pretty amazing things for you. Because your lil one is so young, I would ask the DR first or do some research. Is she on formula? It could be that she is allergic to it/milk....etc...and that could be causing this problem.. Good luck......Hopefully for all of you, it will stop soon.

Our daughter has it and the axid is working great. She still spit up once and while but we noticed a big change within a couple of days. Its hard to give you advice because im sure you already tried alot of it. Did you go to a gastronologist? Oh the two formulas that worked well for us were (similac sensitive rs) this is new. and similac allimentum. Good Luck
The axid we use is in liquid form so maybe that will work. Just like someone else here said its trial and error. Again good luck.

What should I avoid while taking lansoprazole?
If you also take sucralfate (Carafate), avoid taking it at the same time you take lansoprazole. Wait at least 30 minutes after taking lansoprazole before you take sucralfate.
This medicine can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.

first of all, what jackass of a pediatrician put your infant child on Prevacid. You need to stop immediately and you need to change physicians.
My son had a very hard time digesting regular formula. Try Nutramagen. It's a specially formulated to be easier to digest.
AND GET A NEW DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.

Wow, didn't know you could give that to a lil baby. Maybe she'll grow out of it.
