What do you do when mail addressed to someone else is delivered to your home?
Maybe the postman misread the address, or maybe the address is yours but the person no longer lives there, or never did. What do you do?

If I know the person, I take the letter to the house, If I don't then I write wrong address and stick it back n the mail box, if it is clearly junk mail, then I trash it

If the person used to live there 6 months ago or less, I'll do the 'person not at this address' thing, but after about a year, I'll trash it. If it was delivered to the wrong address, I'll write a note on it and stick it in the mailbox. If a person hasn't let a company know they've moved after a year, they probably 1) don't want mail from the company, or 2) it's junk mail. The ONE exception is the IRS forms or tax return stuff - that always goes back to the postman.

Just put it back in the mail box or if the address is correct but the name is wrong then write RETURN TO SENDER across the front of the envelope.

I stick it back in the outgoing mail slot. If it is the right address but wrong ppl, I write "not at this address" on it.
