I may have a bone infection . I have had two oppions .I know everyone has different pain thresholds but how painful is it ? How long does it take to recover ? The docters say its not that bad but I had a tumor removed and I was 5 weeks in a wheel chair and had horrible pain .

A tumor is going to feel much worse because they attach themselves to tissues and thus surgery to remove it causes more trauma. Having a bone removed is going to be sore but if you keep weight off the foot, rest it as much as possible, use crutches when you need to walk, and keep the foot elevated at all other times, you should start to feel the pain ease rather rapidly. Let's also put it another way. The pain of an infection can get excruiating, far far worse than the surgery would be.
Good luck!
