Is there a cable which I can connect between an Xbox 360 and my Computer?

I am trying to find a way of transferring data between the Xbox 360 and the computer. I can connect my USB stick in, but I can't find anywhere to take the data off onto my Xbox.

Update:

Windows Media Connect lets you connect your Xbox 360 console to a PC running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later—it doesn't have to be a Windows Media Center-based PC.

Windows Media Connect lets your Xbox 360 console stream music and pictures stored on an Windows XP–based computer anywhere in your home. View slide shows on your TV and play all your music—both your audio CDs and the unprotected music files on your PC—through one sound system.

Set up Windows Media Connect on a Windows XP–based PC

Connect your console to your PC with a simple Ethernet connection from the Ethernet port on the back of your Xbox 360™ console to your PC. (An Ethernet cable is supplied with the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system; not included with the Xbox 360 Core system.)

Or use one of the connection types described in Connect to Xbox Live.

Go to www.xbox.com/en-AU/pcsetup and click Setup. You will be automatically redirected to the appropriate download for your operating system.

To manually select a download based on your operating system, visit the Xbox 360 Media Download Center instead.

Click Next (or, if you followed the link for a manual download, choose your software from the drop-down menu and click Download).

With your Xbox 360 console turned on and connected, run the executable download on your PC.

Click Finish when installation is complete.

From the Xbox Dashboard, select Media, then select your desired music and/or pictures from your PC.

It's easy to just network them together using a normal ethernet cable. If you want to play music or movies through the Xbox then you can just use Microsoft Media Center and you won't have to waste space on the Xbox, they'll just play straight from the computer through your television.

You can't take things off your xbox and transfer, you can link them and when your PC is on you can play the songs etc... on your 360.

  • should work with any standard network cable.

maplin and these places do cat5 cable for a couple of £££

i;ve not done it but windows media centre can link into it
