I dont really see what the people here are talking about when they say its just another regular game because IT ISNT!

These are two teams that are in the same conference (pacific division) battling for the top spot. And they both have significant injuries on there team. The suns with grant hill and the lakers with bynum (obviously the lakers hurt more losing bynum than the suns with hill).

This game will be a good estimate to show the lakers if they can perform against the elite teams of the west for the next 8 weeks without there big man dominating the middle. The lakers will have to perform very well and get support off there bench to beat the suns who are right now the better team because of the loss of Andrew.

Regular Season or playoffs it is always a big game everytime these 2 teams meet. There is a lot of pride at stake in this game. It is all about "whos the better team"? Phx eliminated the Lakers in their last 2 playoffs series. Lakers beat the Suns twice this season. Lakers would wanna continue their hot streak againts the Suns and the Suns obvoiusly wanna get the win. Biggest game for the week!

psshh! its not just a regular season game!

    1. Phoenix has to win to prove they can contend against the top 8 western teams.

    2. If lakers win, it is a huge *** statement seeing that they dont have bynum and is on a 7 game winning streak! We finally get the respect we deserve!

    3. If you are a Phoenix or Laker fan this is always a huge game!

The Suns have lost twice to the Lakers this season. It would seem likely that they would want win over the Lakers as a statement and so that the Lakers won't have the advantage in the season series.

The Lakers have just lost their young, big man and are on a win streak. They want the win so as to have an advantage in the season series and to show that their current #1 WC playoff seeding isn't some sort of fluke.

I know lakers are a deeper team and I love the lakers ,but it might be shaq prescence that will ignite the suns although lakers Are An all around better team suns have home court advantage .I pick the lakers only because we have the fantastic four KOBE GASOL ODOM AND FISHER + the fact that the lakers can rest their starters while the lakers can put there awesome bench to unload more points

uhm its much more important for pheonix who last i checked was like 1-8 against the top teams in the west, they need some spark to save the season and give them hope in the playoffs. As for the lakers they dont have bynum so a win for them here would be icing and a loss will not be that big of a deal

  • Fact: Regular season play does not dictate the outcome of a play-off game. (Take 1998 Utah Jazz who swept the season series against Chicago but lost in the Finals).

If this game should mean something it would be a big morale booster. It's just like saying we can beat you anytime, anyplace. Plus momentum wise you want a psychological hold on the other team when you face them. That's the difference. That's what's at stake.

  • Well this is a bigger game for the Phoenix Suns people forget that the Suns respond very well after a loss.
