i don't want my picture taken!!?
my employers want to take headshots of everyone who works here and put it up on their website. i have personal issues which i don't feel is any of their business but they don't seem to understand how against this i am. i love my job, but i don't want to be easily found in a google search or anything like that. My job is especially desinged so have little to no long lasting contact with people, i don't want to break that wall. What can i do/say to make them understand how much i DON'T want to be on their website?

If it were me, I would state very clearly that I do not want my picture up on the website "for personal reasons."
If pressured, after stating repeatedly that I did not want my photo up there, I would say something like:
"Hypothetically, if you knew that I was being stalked by a violent ex-boyfriend, would you have the same objection?"
If asked whether or not I was actually being stalked, I would say "I'm not comfortable discussing my personal situation with you, but I feel strongly that I don't want my photo up on your web site."
I realize that this is a bit weasel-y. You will leave them with the impression that you are being stalked, but you haven't actually told them that. In fact, you've never actually said what your objection is. You've just provided one example of why they shouldn't insist on having your face on their web site.
If you actually are being stalked, and don't even want to suggest that this might be a problem, then come up with another hypothetical but clearly defensible reason.
- You have broken all ties with your estranged, drug addicted mother and don't ever want her or your siblings to find you.
- Years ago, you were falsely accused of ratting out some mob members, and they still periodically search for you.
- In your religion, when your photo is taken, your soul is captured.
Whatever.
The object here is just to point out that
a) you really really REALLY don't want your face on the web and
b) there are legitimate reasons (other than being an escaped convict) that would cause you to feel this way.
It's a tough, but admirable, position to stick to. Good luck.

tell them that you have issues about that. And that you dont feel comfortable about. Tell them that you love your job very much but dont want to be part of the website
