What does an SRAM do?
Well, my parents are getting new work computers, and they want to know what an SRAM does. They think I'm a computer technecian, but I don't know. So what do they do?

its basically a memory stick your computer uses to storage programs and stuff, the more the merrier but that depends on what you do with the computer and what OS are u using
for win xp 1gb is enough for most apps, unless you're a gamer then you'd want 2gigs
there are many different types of memory
they have to be compatible with your motherboard,
it could be either DDR or DDR2 (both SDRAM)
memory its called RAM memory or just RAM
DDR2 has a larger bandwith than DDR
if you want to add memory to any system, you have to find out what type of memory will your motherboard recognize

The first thing to come to mind is Synchronous Random Access Memory. It's a type of RAM memory. I thought most new computers came with SDRAM but there are quite a few different types.
