Two Physical Science Questions?

1. if a car moving at 15 km/h skids 15 m with locked brakes how far will the car skid at 150 km/h

2. on slide a child has potential energy that decreases by 1000 J while her kinetic energy inreases by 900 J. What other form of energy is involved and how much

thanks so much i couldn't find these two answers in my book and i've done tons of questions but these two are killing me

    1. WORK TO STOP CAR = KINETIC ENERGY OF CAR

    FORCE X DISTANCE = .5MV^2

    DISTANCE PROPORTIONAL TO V^2

    15meters/dist = (5km/h/150km/h)^2

    15m/d = 100

    d= 1500m

    2. 1000J potential energy - 900J kinetic energy = 100J

    The 100J is lost to friction, which turns into heat energy.

    the second one is 100J of heat energy from friction of the butt on the slide. Her butt will be slightly warmer at the bottom than it was at the top
