How come Eminem isn't brought up?
In any conversations about the greatest, or top 10, or whatever? Or at least how come he isn't taken seriously by hip-hoppers? Besides being one of the most skilled, and raw artists ever to grace the mic, he has done what no other white rapper (hate to bring race into things) has ever done, I've heard a lot of white people say that Eminem is the reason they listen to rap, would it be a stretch to say that he opened the eyes of a whole new group of people to hip-hop? IMO Eminem is one of the best if not the best multi-syllable rhymer ever, he also has a knack for writing great hooks and no one can accuse him of not being emotional or real. Personally, I am not a fan of Eminem but as far as respect, he is one of the most important rappers in the game and I think he deserves recognition in arguments about the best.

I feel exactly how you feel. The man broke a social boundary and did what a lot of people thought was impossible. A good white (or any other race) rapper. More importantly, though, he's a talented man. Both music wise and acting wise (as his performance in 8 Miles High). I think there are probably two reasons people don't give him as much recognition as he deserves. The first, and most obvious, he is white, and everybody knows the general bias against white rappers. Lots of people who have never even heard of him or listen to him because they assume he's just some cracker wankster who sucks. Obviously quite ignorant. Another reason is that I personally think he got in on the rap game kind of late. At first I thought this was just me, but I eventually discovered the majority of rap fans like Old Skool Rap. In my opinion anything before 1998 (or after Biggie died). There is another general bias towards recent rap music, or Dirty South, the most popular current form. Which I admittingly hate. I acknowledge he is a great rapper and contributed loads to rap music, hell, I even like a few songs of his. I just don't particularly care for him.

I totally agree with you. I am a fan of Eminem and he is one of my favorites, and why he is not brought into the conversation is beyond me. I mean just because he is white (race must be brought in) people try to look down on him, but the rappers would all agree that he is one of the best in the game. And your point about him bringing a whole new group of people into rap music is totally correct. The other day I asked my friend who is white if he listens to rap and he answered "I listen to Eminem". I was taken aback because he really didn't answer the question, but just yesterday he told me that he is starting to get into rap because of Eminem. On my list of Top 5, Eminem may not be there but definitely on my list of Top 10 he would be there and should be atleast argued for.

WELL AS A HIP-HOP ARTIST/FAN HIP-HOP IS STILL SHAKEN BY WHITE RAPPERS. SOME THINK PEOPLE THINK HE IS A WHITE PERSON TRYING 2 BE "HOOD" OR " GANGSTER LIKE PREVIOUS RAPPERS BEFORE HIM. WELL PEOPLE CAN CREDIT HIM AS BEING THE FIRST NON MINORITY RAPPER BUT HE HAS DONE NO THING PUT HIM IN THE TOP TEN.

eminem restoration replaced into reliable he had got here upon his lyrical genius back his bypass replaced into remarkable and he replaced into spitting approximately what surpassed off to him the final couple of years. yet eminem next album is honestly gonna have shady in it. i'll confess that his 2nd and 0.33 album replaced into the suited yet his next album would be an better album than the mmlp. if this happens this submits em's legacy because of the fact the suited rapper of all-time
