how do I find out if my p.c. is running @ its proper speed?

Update:

my p.c. seems to take a longer time to load than usual

    Right click on My Computer > Properties will show you your CPU Speed

    and click on task bar and click on taskmanager then click on performance will show you how much cpu is being used

    there are many ways like speed checks or if you have and viruses get a protection site like bullgurad and it will check up and see about it if there are any viruses
