What do basketball players chew during the game?
Some players chew something during the game. Is it gum? Why would they chew gum during the game?
I can't name a lot of the top of my head except for Elton Brand. He is always chomping on something.
I can tell if they are chewing on their mouthpiece. But I didn't know the gum actually helps.

gum all the way. it keeps the mouth moisturized with the saliva your mouth is excreting in a futile attempt to partly digest it for your stomach.
or anything thats indigestible and keeps your saliva flowing. i'll stick to gum, since they taste so good.

They chew on gum. It really does help so it is recommended. I went to a camp with MJ(Yes Michael Jordan) and I played him 1 on 1. He saw that I would lose my breath a lot so he said chew so gum and it will keep you hydrated.

Some chew gum (big red, sperimint, juicy fruit) and some chew on their mouthpiece.

i think its gum cuz deres nothing else fo dem to chew on tht would last a whole game...
