Just keep being yourself, if he is asking that he is curious about you. Any deep steps you take can hurt the likings he has for you. so just wait and be as patient as possible... trust me. the patience will be worth it!

Ya'll were probably hanging out as friends. In high school they still do the whole 'will you go out with me' crap. When you get older you'll understand it a little better. If ya'll are together on a regular basis, hanging out, talking/texting, then it's probably as friends. The guy I'm with never asked me to be his 'girlfriend' it was just kind of assumed that I was his and he was mine...it's been like that for a year now.

Ok, well, you can't be that good of friends, because any real friend would know the other's relationship status. But anyways. I think that the dude's friend likes you. You should say, "well...no, but I really like this one guy. I don't know if he likes me, though." And tilt your head down and look up at him while you say it. Just give 'em the bedroom eyes. I did that once. The dude asked me out within like three hours.

A guy asking you if you're in a relationship isn't necessarily a sign of them liking you. He probably just wanted to know how to communicate. For example, he would be much more careful with words if he knew you were with someone....than if you were single. So, if you like him... just start building a stronger relationship... and wait for some real signs.

In this case, I think he might like you or he might be asking this question for his friend. So just tell him the truth whether or not you have a boyfriend.

Yeah he's either interested in you on a romantic level or he's just naturally curious.

Or he could be inquiring on behalf of someone else, who knows?

Just ask him why he wants to know at the earliest opportunity!

He might be interested in you, that he wanna be your boyfriend..

Or he thinks, judging by the way you look, having boyfriend would be a surprise.

Or.. He thinks having aging so gracefully like you have, having a boyfriend would be a good suggestion..

Or.. ... ...

Inconclusive, I mean.

It could mean that or it could mean he is just trying to learn more about you. That question carries that implication so guys are loathe to ask it even it is information gathering.

I would say the jury is still out on that one.
