Do You believe in GLOBAL WARMING?

Some people in my school don't believe in Global warming. But where I come from our town used to have rain everyday...now we're in a drought, and our dams are the lowest they've ever been IN HISTORY. Could this be a side effect of global warming?

Also I've heard antarctica is slowly melting away...whats happening there?

GLOBAL WARMING is the reality. Its not just a myth in which we are at choice, whether to believe or not!...Global warming is leading to rise in the earth's mean temperature. Due to this ice the polar ice is melting away. You can see the consequences, the sea level is rising and the coastal areas are at danger!....We need to do something until its too late.

I do believe in Global warming, because when I was in college back in 1980, I had a science class, with the best teacher I have ever had and he took us out of the classroom and we walked in creeks and saw with our own eyes the effects of acid rain and such. We learned how detergents effected the water supply and the things that lived in those waters. I can't recall all the things we did but I remember thinking back then that if we didn't change our ways things were going to get bad. I personally did change my ways a great deal, but not enough and am still trying.

Now with all the weather changes and all the tramatic events hitting all over the world I believe it is real....why else would the world leaders bother to get together to try to control the problem now if it were not real.

Yes I do. But regardless of human influence in areas of air pollution the build up of green house gases and C02, (carbon dioxide) the earth's temperature ALWAYS fluctuates, rises, falls with OR without the help of humans. But it's having a greater impact on the earth how do we know? Droughts, strange irregular weather patterns. But yes I do believe in global warming and I believe that humans and the pollution that they create acts as a catalyst to rising of the annual world temperature.

We're not the only factor when it comes to causing the global temp to rise but there are other factors on hte planet as well.

I don't know, it's pretty damn cold this weekend. But, does it even matter if Global Warming is real? We shouldn't be polluting this much in the first place. It's preeeeeetty pathetic and sad that the corporations will only agree to clean up after themselves a little bit if they have definate concrete evidence that the world will end.

slowly melting is an understatement, by 2050 the predictions are that the glaciars will be completely melted

have you read field notes from a catastrophe? it talks about a lot of these things and is actually pretty interesting

but for me im a firm believer in global warming

and people who are not, are just ignorant of the facts out there

i was just reading the answer above mine and he was talking about the debate of whether how much technology is the source of global warming or whatever. the IPCC[intragovernmental panel on climate change] has said that global warming is 90 % from anthroprogenic causes which are manmade causes.

Just follow the money.... um, how many films have been made? How many talkshows use this? How many school supplies and ancillary faculty have found jobs? And how many scientists have we lost in the last 20 years as a nation? That means less education funds for the sciences. Now that we are panicked, educational funds for sciences are being earmarked. We all have to make a place for ourselves.

Scientific data has "proven" that global warming is occuring while other scientific data has "proven" that it isn't occuring. I believe that there are many earth changing things occuring as we speak and unfortunately very few, if any, are positive. We are destroying the earth and global warming, if true, is just one of the many paths of destruction that we are taking ourselves to.

  • There are some theories floating about but yes there are some odd changes in weather patterns and temperature wise but don't get all worked up about it it's just blown out of porportion sometimes.

Nothing to worry about I promise.

I don't actually. We are polluting the environment.thats' true bt the temperature son earth have always been rising, they have never been steady....and even now,we aren't sure about the human contribution to global warming if it exists...but,polluting the environment is no good thing.is it?

I don't believe in it. They say it's supposed to be getting worse, more hurricanes, no more cold weather or anything like that. I find it odd, we just had the coldest weather we've had in 5 years a couple of weeks ago and we didn't have one hurricane hit us this past hurricane season.

    Global warming... what?
