Because of the new patriot act, you must have a current photo ID in good standing and a social security number to open an account. You might need to just go to some check cashing place or walmart to cash your checks.

Mark, you are able to cash a check without a bank account, if the check is drawn on a local bank. You are able to walk into that specific bank, declare that you do not have an account with them, but do have a check from their bank. You will need a proper form of ID, unless there is also an employee at that bank that knows you personally.

Just wondering how you got your good paying job without a form of ID? I recently renewed my expired domestic passport and paid triple expediting fees to get it back to me within two weeks!

No you have to have two forms of ID - a full passport/driving licence plus a paid bill with your name and address on it.

Banks cannot open accounts without this in order to comply with money laundering regulations brought in after 9/11 at the insistance of the USA.

every bank needs a present id,,,, you should submit present and old id they will compare it.... if you want to have an id go to the governments office ask for a voters id and they will give you or a license id if yoy have 1 you could present that to the bank....

No. You have to have valid up-to-date ID.
