Moving from Maryland to Texas with two big dogs HELP?
I am military and will be driving from Maryland to tx with a rott and a yellow lab, two children and a husband. I will be doing lots of research but I know lodging will be an issue. If anyone knows of good camp sites that will accept these two dogs let me know and I could further research it and find out if it is a good option. Any sites or hotels would be helpful in the states we will travel through.
Also we will be traveling with a hamster.
The problem is most hotels I have researched do not accept dogs over certain poundage. My rott is 95 pounds and the lab will be at least 60 by the time we travel. Some camp grounds don't accept Rotts either. Also when I get there I can't live on post because Rotts are banned on the post I am going too! It is all very frustrating.

Red Roof and Motel 6 are two motels that will always accept pets. They are pretty common across the country, and you can book online. Good luck with your trip!

Try these two sites------
letsgopets.com
petswelcome.com
You can either look for hotels in cities or for ones all along the route that you will be driving. I have used these sites traveling with my Dachshund. The hotel you pick will tell you their limit as to dog size and how many you can have in a room. Plus the extra fee for the dogs. Hope this helps. I don't know any camping sites as I never camp.

Get on your computer. If you know what cities you might be staying in, you should be able to pull up motels or hotels. Each one will state if they allow pets or not. Most Hiltons do. My daughter and her family are in the navy, they travel with 2 dogs and have no problem finding places to stay. Usually they have a laptop, and check for places as they travel. good luck.

My sister is also in the Army. They helped her find a home that took her dog and her. Obviously it was on base... but can the military not do this for you?
Good luck!!
