I think I can help. Go to www.myxertones.com and create an account. When you've done that it will allow you to search for songs witch (for free) can be sent to your phone as a ringtone. It also allows you to upload your own songs for free. I guarantee there are no scams or fees. It is 100% free. I use it all the time.

There are a few ways; some phones come with a USB cable so you can transfer files over just as if the phone were a storage device (and you'll still be able to play the music).

You can also get infra-red and bluetooth "dongles" that attach to the USB port of your PC (so that you can transmit via bluetooth or IR) if you don't have a USB cable.

Failing that you can upload the file to certain sites on the internet (try http://www.mobiles24.com/ , though you'll need an account) and download it via WAP... but with download charges you may find it cheaper to go and buy a BT/IR dongle.

Depends on the cell phone. For PDA's, sync them to your computer and move the MP3 over to the phone. For Samsung's, Sony Ericssons, Motorollas, do the same. Some can do that. Certain LG's, for example.

Depending on the model of phone, you need to determine "where" the mp3 must be located. On my Moto KRZR, the file needs to be on the phone and not on the memory card. Then you may need to move the file to "misuc" or "sounds" folder.

This can be accomplished vis bluetooth or data cable. You may be able to move files from a data card and "copy" it the needed directory.

Keep in mind that your carrier may have a specialized software on your phone to keep you from "easily" doing say as they want you to buy ringers from them.
