How come the announcers never criticize Brett Farve???
To me, he played horrible today, any other quarterback not named Brady or Farve would have been criticized for that performance. He couldn't even move the ball in the 2nd half. And I'm not hatin on Farve, he's good, but when you have a bad game, you have a bad game.

it's called maddenitus. every anouncer automattically has a homosexual crush on number 4. there is no cure.

Having won more than one Super Bowl, Farve is on a pedestal and most announcers are still seeing the Champion Farve not the frozen cube who kept lobbing balls at imaginary targets. And as said when Farve is good he is exceptional unfortuanately when he is bad he is equally unexceptionable. But yes his performance was frightfully bad almost matching the debacle in Chicago....
Most announcers are simply amazed that Farve is still in the game with the same team after all of these years and secretly hope he'll hang on for a few more. That said it is over do for Green Bay to get at least one exceptional back up Q B who can spell the old man for a few possessions and hopefully snag points.

I don't think he played horrible, as a team the Packers didn't do what I thought they would. Offensivly, they didn't close the game up early. But I will give all credit to the Giants for being the underdogs, taking the game to OT and winning. They D was great. And that is why they won. not just because of Eli but the D as well

Because they're veterans who have already proven they can win the superbowl, so if they have a bad game, it's not viewed as choking as in the case of an inexperienced quarterback like tony romo that hasn't proven himself in the past. Also, Favre wasn't in Mexico with Jessica Simpson the week before a game.

Probably because only one of the picks was REALLY his fault? Look at the pick in overtime. It's not like he overthrew or tried to force it. Driver went INSIDE while Favre thought he was going OUTSIDE...Do you really think Favre called the wrong play or that Driver mis-heard it? If you're talking about a different game, then yeah, Madden has a man-crush on him and it gets annoying.

The same reason they didn't do it with Montana, Elway or any other great at the end of their career. It's a respect thing. Might not be right but certain players earn it over the course of their career.
And you must not have watched the ESPN pre game shows last year. They werent exactally nice to him. All you heard was it was time for him to retire.

Aikman did on a couple of occasions today. He is actually the best about not sugar coating. He said on a couple of throws that Brett put them in the wrong place.

he does get criticized but hes had so many good games that i think a lot of people tend to look the other way a lot. heres my opinion..QUIT THROWING THE DAMN BALL WHERE NOONES OPEN!!!!! but even when he did get the ball to them noone could catch it...but then again they couldnt tackle either so...no more superbowls for him.....

It's because Favre is one of the most well liked and classy QB's the game has ever seen.
