What do you enjoy about feeding your baby?
Do you nurse? Formula feed? what is your favorite part of how you feed your baby and why?
I'm curious- I breast feed and I love love love feeding my baby-- I love seeing her curious eyes and her sweet little body so close to me and I love that I get to enjoy that all to myself. I like how free it is (money is tight!) and I love how convenient it is. I have hard days sometimes, though, when I think "Gee I wish she'd take a bottle so her dad could feed her and I could get a break!!" I'm just wondering what you like about the way you feed your baby!
Freedom: I love when my baby grabs onto my shirt or tries to pull the breast closer, that's really funny, like she's helping out! Cute!
Babies Über Alles: I agree completely, I do like the "inseparableness" of nursing my baby (though I have to be totally honest, there are some days when she's going through a growth spurt and she wants to eat every hour that I'm thinking "Oh my word, this is exhausting!" But i know it's just a phase and it's so worth it)

LOL I enjoy the silence in all honesty! My son was fairly sickly as a baby and his sister is now here and although she's breastfeeding amazingly well she is still a screamer! Neither of them wanted to socialize during feeding time...It was all about the bottle or the breast! Though I will admit I like the convience of breastfeeding over formula.
In all honesty in the end there wasn't much difference between the formula feeding with my son or breastfeeding with my daughter. LOL the biggest difference is even in today's age all the people who feel they have to stare at you while your breastfeeding. I know I'm not showing off any skin and it's completely legal to be showing skin, but still people stare as if they want to yell at me for flashing them!

I have to say I think you said my exact thought lol! I love their eyes looking up at me and just that feeling that I was providing them. That feeling that would sooth them! And yes Free is always good, boy do I know how money can be tight! It's soo easy! You don't have to mix anything together, you don't run out! It's awesome! And the bad thing is I only have the memories now lol. My babies are almost 12 and 8! We are trying to have another one now and I plan to breastfeed again but I loved it! My husband would sit right next to me and see the same view I did. He thought it was soo cute! He has never been a boob person lol But was glad I could share the experience with him! It just puts a smile on my face thinking about it. Thanks for that question it was nice to remember!

I loved breast feeding my baby so much that I did it until she was 14 months old. She decided she didn't want anymore but I would of kept going if she did.
I am now 2 days due with my second one and looking forward to breast feeding once again.

I am a father of four-
The best part of feeding my babies have been the expressions with new food, the super messy faces, the slap that sends the spoon full of food across the high chair as we both erupt into laughter!!
Now my older kids all roll with laughter as I feed my youngest because I simply cannot feed the baby without making the mouth movement myself!! (My kids are 13, 11, 8, and 6 mos).
Feeding the kids as babies is wonderful!

i breast feed as well, and one of my favorite things about it (believe it or not) is the middle of the night feeding when it's just me and her up and everything is so quiet and peaceful.... i love watching her nurse, i love that I can breastfeed and that it worked out so well for us, and I love the bonding time with my girl.
she's on solids now too and I love watching her eat - the way she grabs the spoon, the way she moves forward for the food if she thinks i'm too slow bringing it to her mouth, and the look on her face when she really likes what she's eating.

I breastfeed and I just love feeding time...I usually put a pillow on my lap for comfort during breastfeeding..I like to see my baby's patient face when I lay him on the pillow to pull out my breast, his pursed lips and his extreme concentration on my chest when I was pulling out my breast....and when my breast was out he will grab my shirts' collar and pull me towards him..I find it totally adorable..
My husband loves to sit next to me when I'm feeding him, he always laugh when my baby was hungry and can't wait for me to give him the nipple and would lunged at my breast..lol ...he said it was like a fish eating a bait..or a piranha lol,..
I really dread the day that he would no longer wanted to breastfeed :(

We went to visit my parents today, and my mother toted my five-month-old around in a baby sling for a while. My daughter patted at my mother's sweater a bit.
"It's a shame (breasts) don't just come with an on/off switch," said my husband.
My mother and I looked at each other, looked at him. "Eh...nahhh..."
Later on I explained that one of the nicer things was being part of a nursing 'couple,' having a relationship with my baby that makes us inseparable.
I am going to get some thumbs down for this part, but. It is one of the reasons I am down on bottles: it seems clear to me that nursing works the way it does for good reason. Babies are just not meant to be separated from their mothers for extended periods, and a good nursing relationship ensures that. I mean no slag on mothers who had to go back to work and who're (selflessly!) tied to Medela instead of their baby during the day, but. I do like it for myself, having my baby and I made inseparable like that.
