Has anyone heard What is going on with the show 24? when it will start again?

The production crew was only able to finish like 8 episodes or so of the new season before the writer's strike started. Since that happened, Fox decided to put the show on hold until the writer's strike ended because they want to air all 24 episodes on a weekly basis with no long interruptions in between. So basically it won't start airing until after the strike is over.

Keifer Sutherland's jail sentence has nothing to do with the show's delay. Before the strike happened, he was going to spend the first 18 days of his 48 day sentence in jail during the Winter Break stoppage and then he was going to be released when filming resumed. After filming was complete he was supposed to go back to jail and finish the final 30 days. Since the Writer's strike stopped all production anyways, Sutherland has decided to do all 48 days consecutively.

I believe the show is on indefinite hiatus. this is because of the writers strike and Kiefer Sutherland is in jail. I can't remember if the jail term started just before or just after Christmas, but it is for 3 months.
