If I make a how-to video for software, am I infringing on copyright laws?

I am planning on making and selling a How-To video for accounting software, and I am wondering about lawsuits. If I am creating 100% of the content, yet taking video of the software as I use it, am I breaking any copyright laws? (Lawyers only, please.)

Simply put, copyright infringement is defined as using another's copyrighted work without permission. If you're showing parts of the software in your video, then you may be infringing on another's copyright.

There may be other rights you are infringing on, as well. But they are beyond the scope of the discussion here.

If this is a serious business venture for you, I strongly suggest you speak with a good copyright or media attorney before you invest too much money into it.
