What does it take to become a librarian education wise? I'm unhappy in what I'm doing now.?

Update:

I've heard things about four years but I prefer two or one. I also don't want to be the head libraian ether.

    I am just finishing my library degree this semester (yay!) and it took me just under two years. How long it takes depends on how many classes you take at a time. At Wayne State in Michigan it is a total of 36 credits and most classes are 3 credits.
