Who would you keep in Fantasy Baseball?
I'm defending champ in my ESPN league, which means I was loaded last year. The problem is I now have to pick 5 keepers. The first 3 are easy: Hanley Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, and Carlos Beltran. The hard part is I need to pick 2 from among:
Corey Hart -- 24 HR, 23 SB, .295
B. J. Upton -- 24 HR, 22 SB, .300
Garrett Atkins -- 35 HR, 111 RBI, .301
Pat Burrell -- 30 HR, 97 RBI
Eric Byrnes -- 23 HR, 103 Runs, 50 SB
Dan Haren -- 15 W, 192 K, 3.07 ERA
Johm Smoltz -- 14 W, 197 K, 3.11 ERA
Francisco Rodriguez -- 40 Saves
Jonathan Papelbon -- 37 Saves, 1.85 ERA
Jose Valverde -- 47 Saves
Who would you keep, and why?
Typo: Atkins had 25 homers

You have a tough decision to make. the toughest thing for you to do is not keep Soriano. Right now your thinking this guy is crazy...but his #s have dropped and he is having health issues. if you are in a keeper league you should go with these 5.
Hanley- no brainer for 15 yrs.
Beltran- 3-5 more well-rounded yrs.
BJ Upton- this is his explposion yr and he will do it at 2B
Haren- You need to have that #1 ace on your team and I voted him pre-season Cy Young
Papelbon- in these leagues a dominant closer is special- 45saves a possibility
good luck hope i could help

Are you guys serious about not keeping Haren?? He only won the Cy Young on one of the worst teams in the league, and now he'll be going to one of the best teams... AS A #2 STARTER! Which means he'll be facing weaker pitchers in the rotations...
For your other keeper, I would be hard pressed to chose between Atkins and Upton. Id probally take Atkins, just because of the power aspect, yet Upton will get you some stolen bases and should do even better this year, plus I believe hes eligible at a couple different positions in the lineup, so he'll keep ya a little more flexible.
If I were you, I might even let go of Beltran (maybe!) and keep one of your RP... all 3 are studs....

You should keep Upton, Atkins and Papelbon. Most are saying this will be Upton's breakout year and he is still eligible for second base. Atkins started off slow but was able to bring his average back up to .300 which means he will be pretty consistent for you. And Papelbon is as good of a closer as any and very young it would be good to hold onto him.
And lastly I would keep Haren over Beltran. Beltran is overrated and gets worse every year. You are already keeping Soriano so there is a start in Of which is the deepest position. So then if you keep Haren you will have a top pitcher to anchor your rotation. Your infield will be set except for 1st which you can pick up in the first round of your draft. And then grab anothr SP and your team will be looking pretty good.

I'm guessing it's founded on Wins, Ks, ERA, WHIP. Beckett: He consistently remains healthful and having a well offense in the back of him permits him to get tons of wins. He strikeouts alot of batters and keeps a low ERA and dosen't stroll so much, which maintains his WHIP down. Roy Halladay: Probably the first-rate pitcher within the AL, the Jays consistently appear to play good in the back of him, so he is a well pitcher to have for the following three or four seasons. He may be very steady. Lester: Going to emerge as a stud in the following few years, similar to Beckett he has a quality offense in the back of him and he has emerge as a dominant strikeout pitcher. Being younger additionally permits him to pitch greater than 2 hundred innings each and every season. He has but to undergo a DL stint and left handers appears to be extra long lasting. Cliff Lee: Going to to the Phillies will relatively support Lee. He faces simpler line-usaand has some way method method larger offense then he did in Cleveland. Dan Haren: Yeah, he performs for a terrible crew however he's conveniently nasty. If he performed for a tight offensive crew he'd be within the lead for the NL Cy Young award. His strikeouts are via the roof and he simply demands a few run help to emerge as a specific man.

you went with 3 hitters so you need a pitcher and his name is dan haren. moving from a big park in the al to a big park in the nl should help his era and having something that resembles an offense behind him should help his wins. next go with upton, hart came out of nowhere last year while upton has been solid for a few years. as for closer look to draft brad lidge, he should be healthey and playing on the phillies who have a high powered offense.

Upton and Atkins. You've got enough speed already, so you don't have to keep Byrnes.
You might also try some more challenging competition this year. :)

Jonathon Papelbon: In his prime and just dominant
Cory Hart: Young great player who put up 20 20 stats in limited action

Tough decision, but I'd go with Atkins and Upton(If Upton still qualifies at second, that is.)Then you don't have to worry about your infield.

i would add upton and adkins to your team. they are both young, solid players, who should impove on their already good years.
if you dont want to keep all offense, i would drop adkins and add haren.
