I feel really bad about Heath Ledger dying, but I don't understand all the press?

it is the untimeliness of this young promising actor that makes us interested.

I had a friend who overdosed at a party and died. It was her boyfriends house and he supplied her with the drugs. He now has a 3rd degree murder charge and manslaughter counts brought up against him pending trial.

My guess is that the people there with him that night have some pretty powerful lawyers that don't want negative press turned towards their clients. Instead, they'll spread slanderous lies about a history of depression and addiction to get the blame off of their clients and onto the deceased, who can't really defend himself now, can he?

Because he was a celebrity. Celebrities are better than average people and even the most trivial things that happen to them are newsworthy.

We need to be entertained. Iraq, politics and the economy require thought. Way too much effort, our attention span is too short.

Celebrity news is big news, and sells copy. It`s part of the escapism of the masses who couldn`t handle the real things like inflation and recession, and mass murder..!!
