With all the talk about hybrid cars being the future...?
why don't you hear more about the possibility of diesel hybrids? This would certainly push hybrid economy even higher. I mean I know most Americans still don't know diesels have gotten better (not as noisy, smelly and smoky) and you could even investigate the possibility of a turbo such as used on most diesels now anyway. If VW could at least make a mark on the U.S. with the TDI line of its cars, why not a diesel hybrid?
I understand Mercedes has been working on diesel hybrids, and good for them but why are they the only ones doing it?

They are.
Mercedes has been working on a clean diesel hybrid for the US market.

Looks like everyone going for Hybrid cars now, even me.
There is tax credit available if you drive a hybrid car.
