How do I get the old DOS games to play on windows xp?

I have a lot of DOS Games from the 80s how do I play them using windows xp

    with a Dos Emulator such as DosBox http://www.dosbox.com/

    Go to the exe file that starts the game and right click on it and choose properties. Then select the Compatibility tab on the box that opens. Set the compatibility to Windows 95 and make any other changes required for the game (256 colors etc) and click OK. Now open a Dos box, go to the directory of your game and start the exe file.
