Input from American Bulldog owners?
I just got an American Bulldog. I did my homework on the breed and fell in love. A friend of mine has 2 and it made my mind up. I grew up with Rotts and love the big dog. Any advice for a new owner? She is sweet and gets along with my other to dogs (great dane/lab mix-weenie dog) It does bug me when people confuse her for a pitt bull. Shoot me some advice. She is going for puppy training after the required shots. She is ten weeks old now. Let me know your stories about the breed. Thanks.

I have a beautiful brindle and white girl, and she is the sweetest thing I have ever known. If it's possible for a dog to be oversocialized, that's what she is. I was so careful to make sure she met new people and new places, I literally spoiled her rotten. She is convinced that the world revolves around her, that every time I leave the house I should take her with me, and that every person that walks through the front door is her new best friend! She's a little princess--hates the cold but will lay out in the sun to the point that her brindle patches are hot to the touch! She can be VERY stubborn when she thinks she's not being treated fairly, but other than that is usually very eager to please me. She likes other dogs, especially if they want to wrestle, but will "protect" her yard from other dogs from behind the fence. It's the only time she ever barks. I love that they're not yappy, and that any time they bark, you know you should probably check it out. But like I said, if a burglar ever came through my front door she'd be no help.
As for advice, I don't think they require any special treatment that any other large breed dog needs. Don't feed her too much protein and don't exercise her too much while her bones are still growing. Make sure she knows who's boss
Also, don't let people's ignorance regarding pitts vs. ABs bother you. Just realize, some people don't know the difference between a collie and a golden retriever! They're both hairy with long noses and floppy ears, right?
Enjoy your new girl, she'll only be a baby once!!

I think they are a fantastic breed, I was quite involved in the breed back in the UK. I don't own one now, but do your research on the net, read as much as you can get, I did and found it most use full. Basically there two types Standard and Bully, although a lot are mixed between the two.
I found their temperaments to be good, not too much dog aggression, but the males can be dominant, they NEED socializing early on.

I also had Rotts before I found my first AB
They do tend to be head strong but if you are consistent you won't have a problem.
They are very smart & can play you like a fiddle LOL
The best thing about a bulldog is that all the love & affection you shower them with is returned 10 fold!
Congratulations!!!

They are extremely prone to allergies as mostly white dogs are, if not skinproblems then food/digestive. My friends bred their 2 who have allergies and the pups we have locally have allergies one female so bad she was PTS by her owners'. They have owned more than the 2 and all they had and the ones they knew were mostly white and had skin problems. They are nice dogs, not as active as their size would make you think but def need obed training and you can not take a chewie from the male due to lack of training.

As you made notice of, there grew to become into no injury executed to the cocker. this means she has some chew inhibition, that's a stable element. And, it does not sound like she tried to retaliate to the lab, additionally a stable element. it somewhat is plausible that the dogs who initiated this grew to become into the cocker. many circumstances human beings do no longer see what is going on between canines till certainly one of them has an overt reaction. The dogs who reflects "aggressive" habit isn't constantly the single at fault. i might propose consulting with a qualified coach for an assessment of the canines. it would desire to be that each is is nice, yet they do no longer combination properly. once you pass from having 2 canines to 3, it somewhat is a extensive distinction in administration, and subjects can crop up. in case you're no longer mushy in a management functionality, i might propose sticking with purely the two canines, in the event that they get alongside properly. Breed rescue might desire to help with re-homing if the training highway does not do it for you. stable success!
