Wedding flowers?

I'm going to meet w/ a florist tomorrow and I was wondering how much should I expect to pay. I have 4 Bridesmaids/4 groomsmen. Thanks in advance.

Hi. It depends on what kind of flowers you want. Example: roses are much more expensive than carnations.

You don't need to go in with a pre-conceived idea. That is the purpose of the meeting. Tell them what YOUR budget is...and they will tell you what you can have to stay within your budget. OR....give them ideas of what you like, and have them price it out for you. There is no charge to meet with a florist and get an estimate.

Here is what we paid for my son's wedding in 2006:

    Bride's bouquet = $100 (about 15 roses)

    4 bridesmaid's bouquets (hand tied) with 6 roses each = $36/each

Boutonnieres - we paid $10/each and that price is probably still the same as they are usually 1 flower only.

Good luck! And don't be afraid to go to a couple of florists for quotes.

It all depends on the florist that you go to and what flowers you are planning to get.

I got a great price on my flowers, so try looking at wholesale florists in your area. I paid about $10 a piece of the boutonnieres and $50 for each of the bridesmaid bouquets. However, it is always good to know the types of flowers that are going to hike up your bill...calla lilies, orchids and any type of speciality roses will cost you a lot. The way that I kept a lot of my cost down was by using the Gerbera Daisies. They come in all different types of colors, they are very affordable-plus they are big flowers so it doesn't take much of them to make a nice bouquet.

Before you go tomorrow definitely do some research on the types of flowers that are going to be expensive...and also look up what flowers are going to be in season at the time of your wedding. Try to pick flowers that are in season...another good thing about the gerbera daisies is that they are almost always in season.

Best of luck to you :)

Every florist can be so different when it comes to pricing....but it will be a pretty penny either way. I could not bear to pay so much for a florist... plus I wanted orchids which are even more expensive.

SOOOooo I have decided to do it myself and use silk flowers...plus I can sell them when I am done and get the money I spend on them back. I have been buying all my flowers when they are on sale...

Maybe you could do you're own flowers if the price is more then you want to pay for????

Here is my bouquet that I made...it is an arm bouquet

I think it's going to depend on what kind of flowers you want, when you're getting married (different flowers are in season different times of the year and if they're out of season, they'll be costlier) as well as your location and your florist. And there's more than the bridal party you'll want to consider - will you have corsages/bouts for the parents, other people special the couple (aunts, uncles, grandparents, godparents)? Will you have some sort of arrangement at the altar in memory of someone or for decoration? Will you be decorating the pews (if marrying in a church) with flowers? Flowers for decoration at the reception?

Remember one thing, you are paying them to do the flowers. So many florists talk you into things you don't want. Cost has a big range depends on time of year for flowers that are cheaper don't go exotic...no lilies, birds of paradise, orchids..but carnations, roses, daisies...all can be reasonable. YOU decide what you want and what you want to pay. Good luck!

it depends on what kind of flowers you use. and where you live. if your just doing flowers for the people in the wedding I'd say around $500 but if your doing flowers for every part of the wedding it might be around $1500.

This totally depends on if you are using silk or fresh flowers. Fresh flowers do cost less than silk.
