Heath Ledger was a fine actor, when he was alive but now, suddenly, he's a great actor because he's dead!
How come you have to die so people can appreciate your talent?

Because it sheds light on the person. People feel remorse and want to share memories of that person. It would be the same way if a family member or friend passed away, you don't realize how truly amazing the person really was until they're gone...which is why you have to cherish them

Heath Ledger was a good actor and nice looking man. I think it is with anyone that dies that you realize what a good person he/she was. You really miss that individual after they are gone and realizing you will no longer see them regardless who they are; family, friend, celebrity, or whoever. We don't appreciate or praise a person when they are alive, it happens in death and that's sad. I know because I lost someone close to me at a young age; accidental drug overdose; and now regret not appreciating him while he was here as much as I do now.
That's why we should appreciate each other and let them know how much we care for them. Someday someone will pass away that you hold dear and it changes you. I never had anyone that close to me pass away at a young age.
The sad thing, just like in any other death, is his little girl will not get the chance to grow with her father. And the media will not leave his family and friends to grieve. I feel for Heath's daughter, family, and friends.

Ledger has always been considered a great actor. He's just getting a little more attention now because, umm, oh yeah - his life just ended.

People don't appreciate what they have. And the media tends to glorify people who have died young or in odd circumstances. Look at Marilyn Monroe or Judy Garland. Look at Jayne Mansfield. They all died relatively young and pretty much unappreciated until after they were gone. I believe that is the sad legacy of fame.

He was always a great actor... Its a pitty they are saying everything they are in the media... they should get all the facts before letting loose (ie. why he was percribed the drugs. did he have a mental illness?) RIP HEATH I WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU

Must have been a slow news day to make such a big deal........people die every day.........of course, it is sad that a young life ended suddenly, but, what about all the babies who are aborted? They never had a chance and he did have twenty some years, so...............

Same thing with your autographs and other memorabilia . As soon as the person dies or has a scandal the value of it triples. Who knows, society is sick like that.

It's not so much that as people only want to say nice things about someone who just passed away.

because when you die people aknowledge your life ...for honor...but mostly people are doing it because he is "famous"...and its a everyone has to know kinda thing.....for the media to have something to talk about...
