His address is probably in the blocked list.
Check it and remove him if that's the case.
Mail page>>options (top right)>>block addresses. find his address on the list---click on it---click "remove block", and you'll be able to receive his emails again.

Check to see if your settings are deleting your emails by default. You could have a virus that is doing it... Or.. well l dont know a 3rd thing...
