Common sense is the best way to secure a computer. Don't install stupid programs. To be extra safe use a programs like Spyware Blaster and Spybot S&D to prevent sites from installing stupid toolbars and spyware. Also install a good anti virus such as NOD32 or Kaspersky.

Get windows live care. It gives your computer tune-ups to make it run more quickly, it checks and scams for viruses, comes with firewall, and alerts you when something is trying to get into files on the computer.

i would say you should use all the free apps on this page. Why pay for it when you got great free antispwyare apps!!!
