Good puppy turned bad?
I have a 6 month old Golden Retriever. He used to wait for me to take him out to pee and stuff. I've always taken him out 3-4 times per day and it was all good until last week. Now he doesn't wait anymore, as soon as I start walking him out to the door he pees on the doorway. What can I do about this?
He still squats to pee. No lifting.

have you had him neutered?

Take him out more often. When my dogs were pups we were outside five or six times a day for several months. Second idea is my foster dog for the first three days she was at my house would submissive urinate if I had been out of the house for a few hours. It has improved. I go up to her without speaking or petting, and put her on lead and walk to the door. I would take him to the vet and check him for a urinary tract infection. They cannot control urination or hold in for very long if the pup has an infection.

If you had him neutered before he was mature then he will probably squat all his life because he didn't reach the age when a dog will lift his leg to urinate.
If he hasn't been neutered yet he is getting to the age where he will 'mark' his territory. He could be doing this before he leaves the house.
You may care to have him checked by the Vet in case he has a urine infection which could cause him to urinate before he can actually get outside.

either he needs to go out more than the times you take him out in which case take out more often. if you mean he is lifting his leg or peeing on door seal then he more than likely marking his territory.
if he isn't neutered it will get worse and he might start marking in the house. he's old enough to know it's his territory and he wants everyone else to know.
if none of this fits he may have a urinary infection and needs to see vet. hope this helps.

I know this is going to sound dumb, but walk faster and keep his mind off of that until you get out the door.
