Jose Calderon for MVP?

Does anyone else think that Jose Calderon of the Toronto Raptors should be the MVP? I know it's early, but his stats are crazy. He should be the starting point guard for the Eastern Confrence All-Star team. His stats are better than Jason Kidd's, and he is a more explosive player than Jason Kidd has ever been. He also has great character and a passion for the game. What do you think? Your opinion please!

MVP no but definitely the starter for the east. Yes kidd gets triple doubles but Jose Calderon's FG% is wayyy better. Jose has one of the best assist to turnover ratio the league has ever seen in a long time. I would be angered and upset if the eastern coaches didnt vote Jose in. He is also a great person who never trash talks or speak illfully to his teamates.

I like Calderon. He can pass, shoot and does not turn the ball over. But he is not an MVP yet, not even in the Eastern conference (ie: D. Howard, Lebron).

Jason Kidd is almost averaging a triple double this year (11.3 pts, 8.3 rebounds, 10.4 ast). So to say Calderon is better than Kidd at this point is a bit of a stretch. However, I would say Calderon will outplay Kidd in the second half of the season unless Kidd is traded to a contender where the supporting cast is very strong.

yea, MVP is definitely stretching it. he is having a GREAT GREAT year, no doubt about that! however, there are so many better people than him. idk even if i'd consider him an all star. pretty close and much closer than most people think but i don't think he's there yet. the eastern guards there's wade, redd, kidd, billups, hamilton, joe johnson, andre iguodala... the western guards there's kobe, nash, paul, deron, baron davis, steven jackson, iverson, roy, ginobli, tony parker, devin harris, jason terry. what i'm trying to say is that there is no doubt he is a great and underrated player but MVP!!!! look at all those players and those are just guards. bigs there's dwight, duncan, kg, yao, amare, bosh... calderon simply isn't good enough to be an mvp.

Haha. MVP... no. Because he isn;t even the most valuable to his team. That is Chris Bosh. He's played remarkably well, and I think deserves an all-star spot no doubt... but MVP is a stretch and he simply doesn't score enough to be considered in those talks yet.

ya, he has the best assist to turnover ratio in the nba, he has crazy stats, his shoting precentage is off the charts (50,40,90 field goal, 3point, and freethrow) hes just like a steve nash with way less turnovers.

no he dosen't have momentem plus he's young so it will be some one like kobe or lebron winning it this year

please he isnt anywhere close to mvp status... i would put caron butler before him as an mvp candidate and hes not in the running either.
