Baby Shower gift?

My bestfriend gave me a whole bunch of stuff but the best gift that she gave us was all of her favorite books when she was a kid and she wrote something in the inside of each book (about 8 books) to our son. It was very sweet and something that he will be able to appreciate as he gets older.

Getting something for the mother is a great idea! She's the one going through all the up and downs of being pregnant. (bath stuff, candles, things to help her relax before and after the baby) I love to give personalized gifts. This is really generous of you. I think what you're getting is MORE then plenty, even for a best friend. However, you could buy her a baby scrapbook and get lots of scrapbooking paper, stickers, accessories, etc. Or get some of her ultrasound pictures framed. Just be creative with it if you want to do something special for her. How nice of you!

Babies R Us has a bathtub/spa for babies. I just went to a shower that had this as a gift, and it was the hit of the night.

You could also go to a jewelry store and get a baby ring or baby cup that can be engraved.

A baby book!! if your friend has a name picked out get it personalized on the baby blanket. Current has all kinds of baby gifts ie. kits for hand and foot prints=D

Buy the mother a baby charm bracelet or a necklace with a pendant on it, like the babys birthstone, or something about being a mommy.

you can buy (or make, if you are creative) a special photo album and put together a few pages with some special pics of you and mom-to-be and maybe you can get some ultrasound pics from dad too to get her started.

Look on her registry, most people just find things that are cute and don't bother to look at the registry. How many people register for a breast pump and actually get it at a baby shower? Or get her a gift card for where she's registered.

I know this is so far off, but my friends have been doing belly casts for there pregnant friends. You paper mashet(spelling) the stomach and breasts and that way you can save the pregnant belly and paint it beautiful colors and she can hang it on the babies wall .
