Smelly Dog?
My dog is a corgi lab mix. When we bathe her, she smells fine. After she goes outside, though, she stinks horribly. Any idea on what we should do to to remedy this situation?

It's perfectly normal to smell different after going outside. There are the elements to deal with for one, not to mention pollutants and other tiny foreign objects in the air that are naturally absorbed by the hair.
Try spraying a dog cologne between bathings. They have many gentle formulas at places like PetSupplies or PetSmart. Also be sure to keep the yard and surrounding areas as clean as possible, but dogs will be dogs lol and love to roll around.
Hope this helps.

The things she is rolling in could be much smaller than dog poop - bunny poop, deer poop, squirrel poop...that sort of thing. Next time she goes out, watch her from the window to see where she rolls, and then go out to that spot to see if you can find anything that may be enticing her. If you find something, clean it up. My dogs have also rolled on dead animals in the yard as well (we live in a wooded area, and own an acre), such as birds and other small animals. Believe me, THAT is a nasty smell...and not fun to clean up off the dog either.

Unless its obvious to you that she is rolling around in something stinky, then your biggest sources of odor in a dog tend to be 1. Skin Infection 2. Ear infection 3. Dental infection 4. Left over wet dog odor from bathing.
Any bad smell that doesn't go away warrants a trip to the Vet to rule out the first 3.

My dog is black and he has his own smell. My blond dog smelled better. I guess it's just certain breeds. They sell baking soda shampoos. You can try that or a spray for dogs that smells like they were just groomed. She may be rolling in something bad and they sell wipey dog wipes at the pet departments and that may take the smell away. I hope this helps.

It could be due to her diet. Try taking her to the vet or a homeotherapeutic vet... Sometimes, I find things suggested by the homeo vet works much better than the normal vet cause everything is organic so you dont really alter much of the dog's hormonal balance
