I am a 47 year old husband of 1, happily married for 26 wonderful years! And, father of three great kids, and now grandparent of one . I was a truck driver for 13 years but now I am an amputee. I lost my right leg from diabetic infection, but do just fine with my prosthesis. I was born and live in the U.S.A. as were my parents, grand parents, and great grand parents, back to 1750 in fact, and am very proud of this.

  • FHA Mortgage loan help please?

My wife and I are trying to refinance our home. We have a mortgage lender here in the Atlanta area that is handling the refi. He said that with good credit over the last 12 months we will qualify for a fixed rate loan of 5.75% for 30 yrs. Is there a big difference in FHA lenders? Should we continue to shop around?

  • My Legal Dilemma?

My wife and I bought a house 2 years ago, this month. It sits in a subdivision, beside a water tank, on top of a hill. When we moved in we didnt think that it would be a problem, but we have no water pressure. When we asked why, we found out that the tank operates on gravity. When we asked at closing, the seller told us that there is nothing wrong with he house. He lied to us. Because there is no pressure here, the pump that boosts pressure into the house burns up frequently. We cant afford to buy a pump. They cost 600 each, and were on a tight budget. The seller knew that the pump didn't work when we closed, and didn't tell us. The folks at the water dept. have told us that they tried to tell the builders not to build so close to the tank in the first place. As we approach the 2 yr. anniversary were wondering if we should try to persue damages against the seller? Any good legal advise would be appreciated.

  • Carfax report?

I need to get a carfax report on a vehicle that I once owned. It was a 1996 Eagle Vision VIN number is 2E3HD56F8TH189202. I'm not a bum, but someone who needs the information because this car was reposessed from me in August of 2002, because the front end fell apart, and they refused to repair it, and now are coming after me for the deficency. If it was wrecked prior to this date, I need to buy the report to strengthen my court defense. If not, it doesn't matter. At least I will finally know either way. If you have access to carfax, and don't mind running it for me, I will award you with 10 points. Thanks

  • I am being sued?

I had a reposession in 2002. We were sent interrogitories in March of 2007. we answered them and sent them back then. The attorney has asked for a summary judgement. I asked for a court date last week. I have to go to court on May 14th. Do I have a justifiable defense on the Statute of Limitations since it has now been 6 years plus?

  • I am being sued by an attorney for a 6 yr. old repo?

We bought a car from Ugly Duckling in 2001. the car fell apart after 5 months, and we sent it back to them in Feb. of 2002. They wouldnt fix anything that was wrong and we couldnt drive it. In Oct. of 2006, we got a request from them for our address and they sent us interrogitories that we promptly answered and sent back in March of 2007. On monday we got a letter in the mail asking for a summary judgement from the court. We took our interrogitories with our proof of sending to them to the court on Tuesday asking for a courtdate, because we are past the collecting SOL in Ga. because we are past the 6 year SOL for a written contract, and way past the 4 yr. sol for a voided contract. Can we win?

  • Georgia repo law for statute of limitations?

What is the Statute of Limitations in Georgia? The law says that for a written contract its 6 years, but for a breached contract its 4 years. Which is correct for a reposession? If a business repos the car and sells it, then isnt the contract breached?

  • How much of a loss can I claim on my taxes?

I delivered newspapers on a job as a 1099 nonemployee. I made 6625.00 on the job. I had to buy a 1600 dollar car, and bought 290.00 worth of tires, and had 400.00 worth of brake work, along with 3600.00 in gas used. The mileage was about 125 per day x 120 days. How much of a loss can I claim on my taxes without raising a red flag to the I.R.S.?

  • I received a credit card in the mail that I applied for.?

If I dont call to validate it, can I still be charged for it? It is a Visa Card from CreditOne Bank. I'm trying to build my credit, but already have 2 cards, a Mastercard and a Discover Card, both have low credit limits. I know by applying for it I am already taking a hit on my credit, but is two cards enough to build my credit?
