I am certain that I know this one. The dumbest tennis players are some of the ones (not you necessarily) who have been asking and answering questions about the Australian open, and other topics recently on this forum. Who is ugly, Who is pretty, Who hates whom, Can I be a pro even though I have never played, How do you make a point in tennis, Answers like IDK, Answers totally wrong just to get two points, etc.
Additional: Sorry if I have annoyed a lot of people. The "pretty" questions aren't so bad, but there are so many poor or wrong answers that it drives me nuts.

I'm assuming that "dumb" refers to the players' game's and attitudes. Anyway, on the men's side, it's a three-way tie between Marat Safin, Andy Roddick, and Andy Murray. Safin has such immense talent and was so highly touted early in his career that it is shocking that he has spent very little of his time on tour as a serious threat. Time and again, he finds ways to lose (usually to nobodies) well before the second week of a Major. To call him an underachiever would be kind. Roddick still refuses to significantly alter his game, despite an ever-increasing amount of losses and consitent failure at the Slams. He needs to realize, it's not just Roger anymore. A whole host of guys are figuring out his game. Lastly, Murray deserves "recognition" for his sloppy, dejected on-court demeanor, and inability to focus and pay attention to a coach. While his buddy, Djokovic has reached the top three and won his first major, Murray has stood still. Not sure that ditching Gilbert will help either.

All male and female tennis players are talented in some form
or the other. They have their individual game and have
strengths and weakness. Opponents that are smart always try
to expose the weakness of any player. A really smart player
always plays on his/her strength and at the same time judging
the weakness. Playing to the weakness of the player is NOT
dumb, but basically it is a weakness and no one plays to
loose. Of course if you are playing to the betting circle mafia,
of course they may be smart in collecting the illegal money, but are the most stupid and dumb players.
So I call all those players accepting money and showing their
loosing side of the game are the DUMBEST.

Not sure about the "dumbest", being that is a strong word to use. However, the two male players I can think of, that allow their heads. minds to interfere with their play are Hewitt and Safin. Both have immense talent but allow their stubborn natures, temperment to control their level of play. Why be out there then. As for the women, I think Svetlana, Sharapova, and Vaidisova are the weakest in the head. You might question Maria, who is so mentally tough, but when she is struggling, all she can do is look at her daddy with sad eyes, and question why it isnt going her way. Kuz needs to step up her game during big matches and hasnt been able to do so. She is a weak #3 in the world. Nicole gets too upset within herself, though I see so much potential in her and her game. She reminds me alot of Capriati. I can only hope she does not take the same route as Jennifer did, not in her personal life anyway, but instead record those tournamnet wins earlier than Capriati.

Men: Andy Roddick, I think his game totally depends on serve, I still remember his match with Nadal last year, I think in indian wells. He was playing very dumbly, always reaches the net in an unappropriate time and eventually loses the points. Others are Davydenko and Hewitt.
Women: Anna kournikova, Sharapova in the past not now.
Source(s): My own opinion. PS: Those are the dumbest I think from famous and top players. - Anonymous1 decade ago
Marcos Baghdatis, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga & Lleyton Hewitt.

Haha, good question. Andy Roddick is the dumbest male, and the dumbest female, I would say, would have to be Lindsay Davenport (dumb for trying to make a comeback).
The dumbest player of all time is Anna Kournikova, hands down!
