In the eyes of the law, if my husband grabs me and shoves me over a bed is this physical abuse?

Update:

Just to let you know this was done in anger not as part of a sex act.

Yes, that's domestic violence and he can be arrested for it. DON'T PUT UP WITH IT. I am just now getting out of an abusive relationship and he was arrested for domestic violence.

It is a progressive disease; it gets WORSE and WORSE.

Actually WIZJP.... Richard is correct....grabbing and shoving someone over a bed is a crime. It's the grabbing and shoving that completes the event. The willingness or eagerness of the 'victim' only comes into play is they opt to report same. While such an act may be a precursor to sex (foreplay) in the instant case the person asking the question is asking if the act constitutes physical abuse...to wit the answer is yes....report same.

Only if you file a complaint.

To the "guy" below... a shove over the bed is how some adults start to have sex. It's not a crime unless the person "shoved" has an issue with the action or type of force used. If they have sex every Saturday night that way.....it's their business. It's only a crime if she doesn't consent.

Yes. Unless you asked him to, or it was part of some kind of sex game you enjoyed.

Yes, he should not be putting his hands on you PERIOD. If he continues to do this, i would call the cops and get away

    Yes. It's battery.

wizjp... that's not true. If you commit a crime, it's a crime whether the victim reports it or not.
