It is Ipek and it means silk - metaxa in Greek, if I am not mistaken.
It is also a town's name where my ancestors immigrated from :)

yep it's Greek. It's Andrea, the female form of Andrew which means manly and strong ... apparently it means feminine in Latin though so I don't know.
More importantly to me though, I was named after my grandfather who passed away recently and in my opinion I couldn't have asked to be named after any other person. :)
My Grandfather got his name because when his mother was pregnant with him, someone told her that there was something special about her baby and that he'd always have a guardian angel following him and she'd have to name him after a saint. Saint Andrew is the biggest saint in Cyprus, so she called him that.
So yes :P I do know it's roots and etymology.

M y fisrt name is Christos and it could mean either useful from the ancient verb "chromai" =use (by the way this is the interpetation that I would prefer) or the chosen one from the ancient verb "xrizo" = annoint one as a religious or military leader ex. Jesus Christ (Christ originally being a a adjective)
