What are the causes of diarrhea in a dog?
He is a 7 month old lab . Got neutered 2 weeks ago. We did buy a new bag of puppy food about a week ago. Same kind as before,we didn't change brands. He has had diarrhea for 3 days now.

Probably something he ate. As long as he is alert and active it is something you can handle at home.
Feed him a soft diet of room temp. cottage cheese or yogurt with rice in small meals 3 times a day for a day or two and slowly switch back to his regular food. This will restore the normal flora in his digestive tract.
If he becomes listless or any other symptoms take him to the vet.

give him half a rolaid. those arent toxic to dogs. he might have worms? has he been to mexico recently? :D

he might be sick or has a cold. check its nose, if its cold and wet its in good heath,anything else might be ill.
