I'm 18 and dating with 17 years old girl but no sex. Is that legal or illegal?

of coarse it's legal. its nothing to do with the law,, if you are 18 and have sex with a minor ,, ie 16 yrs. then its technicaly against the law, but only if she wants to charge you with something.. ,,,,,, if you are under 18 then you cannnot be charged ... so go ahead take her out and have sex no worries ...

As a Mother and Grand Mother myself, this concerns me! Either your boyfriend is very immature for his age, or perhaps you are very mature for yours. Either way, I would be very worried as a teenager such as yourself will be easily led, and as young as you are you will get urges, which this young man could take advantage of. In fairness to you both, this could well be an innocent and workable relationship, though I think you should both have time apart and mix with your own age group. It is only Illegal if you do have sex of any sort, as you are considered by Law to be a Minor, whereas your boyfriend is classed as an Adult, therefore he would be charged with Indecency and Unlawful sex with a person under age. I am not sure where the photo's of the two of you walking hand in hand come into this, as No Police Department, would go to this trouble unless you had been reported as being abducted by this young man, in some form.

It's perfectly legal if you're 18 and she's 17; I'm not sure, but I think the legal age for minors to have sex is 16 ... you might want to check it out.

Is the age of consent 16 or 18? Is there a Romeo-Juliet law in your area where people within two years can date and still have sex without punishments? As long as her parents consent, then it's ok. If her parents wanted to, they could put a restraining order on you till she's 18 and/or put her in JDC.

I've sure this is legal but maybe its different where you live.... but to be honest even if it was illegal and you were having sex.. what court would convict someone thats only 1year or less of an age difference that would be insane to get prosecuted..

thats legal. its only illegal if you have sex with a girl 15 or under and your older than she is. otherwise any relationship is legal. its just illegal for sex so yeah your fine... im 18 and my boyfriend is 17 and weve been dating for 2 years

its depends if u live in canada or in the U.S. but i know in canada if someone age 14 has sex with someone age 17 its legal so i guess its like a 3 year difference thats legal. but its different in the U.S.

Only the sex is illegal...until she's 18. You can date her.
